Category: fruit

Servings: 4

1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1-1/2 teaspoons cold water
Dash of salt
1/2 cup grenadine syrup
1/4 cup brandy or apple juice
2 cups sliced peeled peaches (about
2 medium)*
1 pint vanilla nonfat frozen yogurt

Frozen (thawed) or canned sliced
peaches in juice, drained, for the
fresh peaches.

Served warm or cold over frozen yogurt, the pretty red color of this brandy and peach sauce comes from grenadine syrup. Grenadine is a sweet syrup made from pomegranate and other fruit juices. Mix cornstarch, cold water and salt in 1-quart saucepan. Stir in grenadine syrup. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cook over low heat about 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in brandy and peaches. Cool slightly and serve warm, or cover and refrigerate until chilled. Serve peach mixture over frozen yogurt. 4 servings
